We’d like you or your child to have the best learning experience with us. To support this, we’ve outlined some key procedures and policies. These are designed to ensure that everyone can enjoy high-quality music education in a fair, supportive, and well-organised environment. Please take a moment to read them carefully before beginning lessons with us.

- Getting Started and Payments
- New student payment: As a new student, you’ll begin with two assessment lessons on consecutive weeks, obligation-free. During these, your teacher will get to know your background, learning style, and goals, while you also have the chance to see what it’s like to learn with us. Payment for these lessons is made upon arrival, before the lesson begins.
- Term payment: After the assessment lessons, if you wish to continue, the lessons for the remaining school term are paid in advance to secure your time-slot, which helps your teacher prepare an effective learning plan tailored for your needs.
- Re-enrolment: At the end of each school term, if you’d like to re-enrol for the next term, full payment is required before the school holidays. Each term is usually 10 weeks long. This ensures your place is secured and gives your teacher time to plan ahead.
- Cancellations and Rescheduling
- Cancellations or requests for make-up lessons must be made AT LEAST 24 hours before the scheduled lesson by phone call or SMS.
- Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice – including in cases of illness, transport issues, or technical difficulties for online lessons – will be forfeited. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise; however, this policy ensures fairness for all students and families, helps maintain the quality of lessons for everyone, and protects the valuable time of our teachers.
- Make-up lessons will be rescheduled where possible during the current term. They cannot be carried over to following terms.
- In case, less than 24-hours’ notice is given, an online lesson can be arranged at student’s scheduled lesson time on the same day.
- Parent Attendance
- In most cases, lessons are conducted with just the student and teacher in the room, allowing the child to focus, build independence, and develop a natural relationship with their teacher. Parents are welcome to wait nearby, either in the porch or car.
- Every week, we share parts of the lesson with parents – whether at the beginning, middle, or end – offering feedback and homework guidance to support effective learning. We believe that when teachers, parents, and students work together, students make the best possible progress.
- Practice Expectation
- Regular practice is the key to steady progress. Students are encouraged to practise daily between lessons, focusing on the specific tasks given by their teacher. This consistent effort helps skills develop more quickly and allows music to be learned with confidence and enjoyment.
- Safety and Facilities
- Melody Music Academy is not responsible for providing supervisions for students before or after lessons. Parents/guardians must ensure their children are picked up promptly at the end of their lesson.
- Students or parents/guardians will be held responsible for any damage caused to academy facilities, such as instruments, furniture or any other part of the building or its contents.
- Media release
- Unless requested in writing, photos, videos or audio recordings of performance events such as students’ concerts, recording sessions or general lessons may be shared on Melody Music Academy website or official social media channels.
