Lesson Plans That Help You Keep Improving
At Melody Music Academy, we offer lesson plans that support students at every stage of their journey, from young beginners to advanced musicians. Our lesson durations – 30, 45, and 60 minutes – are carefully designed to provide the right amount of focus and depth for each level.
Many students begin with 30-minute or 45-minute lessons, depending on their age and needs, and gradually move to longer sessions as their skills and concentration develop. Choosing the right lesson length is an important part of effective learning, as the balance between focus, stamina, and progress can make a big difference in how quickly and confidently a student improves.
30-Minute Individual Lesson – $55
Perfect for young children or absolute beginners, our 30-minute lessons provide:
- A gentle introduction to music theory
- Fundamental skills on your chosen instrument
- Clear, simple practice routines to build consistency
- Personal attention to encourage confidence and enjoyment
These shorter lessons offer a focused start, laying the groundwork for a solid foundation and sparking a genuine interest in music.
45-Minute Individual Lesson – $82.50
Well-suited for students who are ready for more depth, our 45-minute lessons provide:
- A stronger focus on theory and musical understanding
- More time for technical development and detail work
- Faster progress through repertoire and skills
- Broader exposure to styles and expressive techniques
This format gives students the space to grow faster and in greater detail, making it a powerful step forward for those who are eager to expand their skills and confidence.
60-Minute Individual Lesson – $110
Best suited for advanced students or those preparing for Grade 5 AMEB exams and above, our 60-minute lessons offer:
- In-depth exploration of complex musical concepts
- Mastery of advanced instrumental techniques
- Comprehensive coaching for high-level performance
- Opportunities to refine interpretation and musicianship
These extended sessions are ideal for serious learners aiming for exam success and well-rounded excellence in their musical journey.
Diploma Grade Program – Additional $10 per lesson
For students preparing for AMEB Diploma-level exams such as AMusA or LMusA, an additional $10 fee is added to the regular lesson rate.
Diploma-level study involves advanced repertoire, refined interpretation, and high-level performance coaching. It demands thoughtful preparation and greater responsibility from the teacher.
The additional fee reflects the depth and intensity required at this stage.
Your Music Lessons, Your Way
While we offer the standard lesson durations outlined above, we understand that every student’s journey is unique. Lesson lengths can be adjusted to suit individual goals, learning styles, and pace, ensuring each session is effective, enjoyable, and truly supportive of musical growth. Also, In some cases two lessons per week (whether ongoing or temporary) can give an extra boost for those who want fast progress, better exam outcomes or so.
