My two girls have been studying violin and guitar at Melody Music Academy for about 5 years now. We began when they were 6 and 7, and it has been a really great experience. From the very beginning the teachers at the Academy have been being so wonderful with the girls and they have learned so much from their lessons. It has been such a joy to see them grow musically every week! The teachers are great communicators and have been extremely dedicated for their teaching to help our girls to develop their skills and knowledge. By sharing the music teachers’ professional experiences, they consistently challenged my kids to grow and have really become mentors and friends they don’t want to disappoint. My daughter has been taking violin lessons at Melody Music Academy for nearly 4 years. I have been learning guitar with Joni at Melody Music Academy for almost four years. After many, many years taking my children to music lessons it was time to indulge my lifetime desire to learn guitar.
It can be intimidating as an adult to begin at the very beginning but Joni is instinctive and intuitive and the lessons calming, therapeutic and fun. Joni is so accomplished in every style of music and many instruments.
I am just very impressed with what Melody Music Academy has contributed to my son, Justin’s achievement. He has done his Grade 7 AMEB classical guitar exam very successfully and now he has just started learning not only the pieces and scales from Grade 8 but also a couple of contemporary songs!
Music has become a big part of my son’s life, and he really enjoys learning and playing the guitar. Since he was picked as a main guitar player for his school band he started expanding his musical styles to rock ‘n’ roll, jazz, blues and some movie themes as well.

I started learning violin with Joni in July 2015. As an adult with no prior music abilities, I find Joni to be an excellent teacher. He is very attentive, and there is purpose behind every exercise.
